SKYLIST.NET OFFERS FREE Y2K EMAIL LISTS AND WEB BOARDS

Year 2000 Problem Solvers Become Charter Members Of Information
Sharing Online Community, Get Questions Answered On Server With Clock
Set One Year Ahead.

PITTSBURGH, Pa., January 11, 1999 - SKYLIST.net today announced free
email discussion lists and web boards focused on Year 2000 themes
where anyone can go to find other people with similar Y2K problems.
More than 150 prominent Y2K columnists and organization leaders were
sent invitations to become charter members and seed the forums with
knowledgable members. Running on the Lyris Email List Server, all
forums are simultaneously published as email mailing lists, web board
style HTML pages, and news (NNTP) threads, allowing the user to
decide the access method most convenient. Forums exist for
programming languages, operating systems, industry specific,
professional, humor, and even survival! The entire site is open to
the public and new forums will be created based on user feedback.

"With less than a year until party of the millennium, the number of
people working on Y2K-related problems is growing rapidly," said
SKYLIST.net president and owner Joshua D. Baer. "There are many Y2K
news sites, but I couldn't find any that connected real people with
others facing the similar issues and the same looming deadline. We
hope to fill that gap by providing a place for Y2Kers to gather and
collaborate."

One of the most innovative things about this particular site is that
it also serves as a live test of Windows NT, Internet Information
Server, and the Lyris Email List Server under Y2K conditions. By
setting the server clock ahead one year, any Y2K incompatibilities
will be flushed out while there is still time to correct them.

"There will be three major groups of people on the eve of the
millennium: Those packed like cattle in a drunken stupor on Times
Square or Bourbon Street, those huddled with stuffed money-belts in
propane-heated cabins in West Virginia, and those waiting in tense
apprehension at the required-attendance-in-case-anything-breaks
office party." Joshua Baer continued, "People using our site will be
primarily from the latter category." Although primarily targeted at
technical types, forums cover all Y2K related topics including
non-technical and community-preparedness.
