AUTOMATES MAILING LIST ARCHIVALS TO A SEARCHABLE WEB DATABASE

Palo Alto, CA -- June 3, 1998 -- FM@iler 1.1 is a combination suite
consisting of an email logging AppleScript for Emailer 2.0, a backend
database application powered by the FileMaker Pro 3.0 runtime database
engine, and a web server plug-in for W*API 1.1 compatible Mac web servers
that provides a searchable web browser interface to archived email
messages.

Emailer 2.0 is configured on a web server with a schedule to periodically
check a POP account for new incoming messages. Mail Actions are also
configured with rules to move incoming messages from the Inbox to the
appropriate Emailer 2.0 Folder. After new mail is received and stored
appropriately, Emailer 2.0 runs an AppleScript that quickly logs specific
Folders containing UNREAD messages to the archival database. This database
is then searchable using the built-in FileMaker Pro interface, or via a web
browser interface. Database Preferences may be configured to support dozens
of different archived mailing lists, each with custom HTML for banners,
etc.

FM@iler 1.1 is the perfect tool for the listmaster or webmaster who needs
to quickly automate the archival of online discussion mailing lists with a
searchable web browser interface. For a working example of FM@iler 1.1 on
the web, visit:
