[NPL] FileMaker Pro Plug In Web Registry

FileMaker, Inc. Announces FileMaker Pro Plug In Web Registry

San Francisco, Calif., MacWorld EXPO, January 4, 1999 - Credit card
verification from within a FileMaker Pro database is just one of
dozens of new FileMaker Pro Plug-Ins, created by independent
developers, now listed by FileMaker, Inc. at www. filemaker.com
(Products area). Made possible by an external function API
(Application Program Interface) that ships with FileMaker Pro 4.0
Developer Edition, FileMaker Pro Plug-Ins add extra functionality to
FileMaker Pro Windows and Mac OS databases through the product's
calculation engine.

A World Of New FileMaker Pro Functionality

In addition to the Credit Card Verification Plug-In, from Tellan
Software, browsers to this site will find a world of new capabilities
for their FileMaker Pro database including such Plug-Ins as the
following: Troi File Plug-In, available from Troi Automatisering,
that allows users to save the contents of a (text)field or global to
a file; PowerDialogs for FileMaker Pro, also from Troi
Automatisering, which allows users to create dynamic dialog text (and
buttons!) on the fly by calculation; Azium Variables, from Waves in
Motion, a Plug-in that allows variables to be created within scripts
"on-the-fly" and accessed anywhere within the script or accessed
globally from other scripts; and many others.

Developers (members and non-members of the FileMaker Solutions
Alliance) may list their FileMaker Pro Plug-Ins free at
http://www2.claris.com:591/plugin/default.htm

FileMaker, Inc. recently shipped FileMaker Pro 4.1, which lets users
query ODBC data sources without requiring SQL programming expertise.
With ODBC importing, users can easily query, generate reports, and
analyze data all within the same FileMaker Pro database environment.
Renowned for its unique combination of power and ease-of-use,
FileMaker Pro lets everyone in the workgroup track, manage and
analyze business information.

FileMaker Pro 4.1 users may either seamlessly import data into a
pre-existing FileMaker database or actually create a completely new
FileMaker Pro database directly from such data sources as Oracle 7,
Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access 97 or Microsoft Excel. Once a
SQL statement is executed within FileMaker Pro 4.1, an entire
database, complete with data and fields is created automatically.
Built-in Internet/Intranet capabilities let users easily publish live
databases to the Web in just a few mouse clicks!

Available at a estimated retail price of $199 U.S. ($149 for users of
previous versions of FileMaker Pro and users of Microsoft Access 95
and 97, Lotus Approach 96 and 97, Corel Paradox Versions 7 and 8, and
Acius 4D Versions 3 and 6.)

FileMaker, Inc. is a worldwide leader in database solutions for
workgroups and individuals, from the desktop to the web. Its
award-winning FileMaker Pro line of database software provides
relational power, ODBC import, instant and custom Web publishing and
legendary ease-of-use. For 15 years, customers worldwide have chosen
