FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Equilibrium Introduces OneButton Productivity Solutions for Digital
Imaging, Photography, and Video

New technology for digital cameras, scanners, and video cameras
automates digital media production

SAUSALITO, CA - May 24, 1999 - Equilibrium, the world's leading
provider of automated graphics processing software, today gave the
premier public demonstration of OneButton Productivity Solutions for
digital imaging, photography, and video hardware. This technology,
when bundled with digital cameras, video cameras, photo printers, and
scanners, provides users with simple "OneButton" automated methods
for preparing images for immediate Web, multimedia, and print use.

"With our new OneButton Productivity Solutions, the time between
image capture and image publishing is reduced to almost nothing,"
said Steve Denebeim, CEO of Equilibrium. "We've taken our
award-winning automation engine and customized it to empower digital
imaging, photography, and video hardware. Our new solutions will
enable our OEM partners to offer their customers easy-to-use,
lightning-fast imaging solutions with no learning curve."

OneButton Productivity Solutions automate and speed the entire
process of image acquisition, editing, optimization, conversion, and
Web cataloging. In one demonstration, Equilibrium's OneButton
technology enabled a new user to automatically scan a dozen slides,
crop them to the borders, convert each to a high-resolution TIFF
file, create optimized GIFs and JPGs for the Web, and create an HTML
catalog of all 12 images. The entire process took only five minutes.
In previous tests without the OneButton technology, the process took
a Web professional more than three hours to complete.

"Equilibrium's OneButton Productivity Solutions are innovative
alternatives to current, more labor intensive imaging software," said
Ron Glaz, Senior Research Analyst, International Data Corporation.
"By automating repetitive digital imaging tasks, this new technology
reduces time spent on tedious and error-prone operations, allowing
users to focus on utilizing the assets they've acquired."

Equilibrium OneButton Solutions are customizable and extensible.
Users can easily modify these processes to meet the needs of their
own workflow demands using a simple preferences interface. Users can
also extend the software's capabilities by incorporating more
advanced automation scripts created with Equilibrium DeBabelizer.

OneButton Solutions will be bundled with select digital scanners,
cameras, photo printers, and digital video cameras in Q3 1999.
