Apple is once again shipping its popular DVD-Video Kit which gives
customers the ability to play full-length DVD-video titles on their
award winning PowerBook G3 series computers.

Apple's DVD-Video Kit includes: a hot swappable, second generation
PowerBook DVD-ROM module capable of reading CD-ROM discs, including
CD-R, CD-i, PhotoCD, and audio CDs, as well as DVD-ROM discs; a
PowerBook DVD-Video PC Card that provides high performance MPEG-2
decoding technology to deliver full screen, 30 frames per second
playback, in addition to a quality audio experience via synchronized
decoding of Dolby Digital audio; and Apple DVD Player software based
on Apple's award winning QuickTime 3 technology to give customers
easy access to basic functions like start, stop, and play, in
addition to advanced features such as progressive slow motion, step
frame, language preferences, subtitles, and multiple angle viewing.
Customers access features via an intuitive orb-shaped onscreen

then to pick up right where they have left off. In addition, the
Apple DVD Player now recognizes DVD discs from numerous regions
around the world. For those Power Macintosh and PowerBook customers
who have version 1.0 of the Apple DVD Player software, the updated
version is available for free download from
