CE Software Announces New Directory System for Mac Internet E-mail
Server Brings Convenient Central Directory for Contact Information
to AppleShare IP and Eudora Internet Mail Server Users

West Des Moines, Iowa, July 6, 1998CE Software, Inc., makers of QuickMail,
today enhanced the functionality and convenience of Mac OS E-mail systems
with a new central directory that stores and updates contact information
for an entire organization. Designed to work with AppleShare IP or the
Eudora Internet Mail System (EIMS), CE Software's new Mail Directory System
for Mac OS maintains up-to-date phone numbers, E-mail addresses and other
information about staff, partners and customers. Users can search this data
from any directory-enabled E-mail program, including QuickMail Pro, Eudora
Pro, Netscape Communicator and Microsoft Outlook Express. A beta version of
the directory server will be available for evaluation on CE Software's Web
site this week.

"CE's new directory server is a needed and useful addition to the Macintosh
E-mail market," says Don Crabb, Macintosh expert and author. "The
directory's advanced look-up and data-harvesting capabilities should be a
boon to companies that use Eudora and Netscape, too."

Compared with other products, the Mail Directory System for Mac OS
publishes more complete contact data because it automatically gathers
E-mail addresses from each message that passes through the E-mail server.
Users can search this data for a lost or forgotten E-mail address, saving
time and increasing the accuracy of their messages.

In addition, the directory server's native support for industry-standard
data look-up protocols LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) and Ph
ensures complete interoperability with a variety of E-mail clients via the
Internet or an organization's intranet.

With the Mail Directory System for Mac OS, busy IS departments gain a
single point of administration for contact information, and the directory's
automatic self-updates require little maintenance. Plus, advanced security
features protect an organization's sensitive data. For instance, the Mail
Directory System for Mac OS could be configured to reveal phone numbers
only to queries that come from company employees.

Pricing and availability
The Mail Directory System for Mac OS is available direct from CE Software
and from resellers and distributors worldwide. A license for one to 10
users is $99.95, a license for up to 50 users is $249.95 and an unlimited
user license is $499.95. The directory will be available in August.
