Bare Bones Software Releases BBEdit 5.1.1 Update

Bedford, MA--July 14, 1999--Bare Bones Software, Inc. today announced
the immediate availability of version 5.1.1 of BBEdit(tm), the
company's award-winning HTML and text editor. This update
incorporates OSA scripting support for BBEdit's powerful multi-file
replace capability, as well as various minor enhancements, interface
refinements, and fixes for customer-reported issues.

The BBEdit 5.1.1 update is available free of charge to all registered
customers who own BBEdit 5.0 or later, and is a recommended upgrade.

Upgrades from Previous Versions

All registered owners of BBEdit version 2.5 and later are eligible to
upgrade to BBEdit 5.1 for US$39 plus shipping and handling, by
ordering directly from Bare Bones Software. This version upgrade
offer is not available through resellers.

The suggested retail price for BBEdit is US$119. A discounted
cross-upgrade price of US$79 is available to owners of BBEdit Lite
