New Graphics Tool Instantly Adds Style to Your Web Site

San Jose, Calif., (October 12, 1998) (Nasdaq:ADBE) - Adobe Systems
Incorporated today announced the immediate availability of Adobe
ImageStyler 1.0 software for Windows and Macintosh. Adobe ImageStyler 1.0
is a powerful Web graphics software application for the creative business
user who needs to create professional-looking Web graphics. In just four
weeks since its introduction, over 60,000 users have previewed and
responded enthusiastically to Adobe ImageStyler software's productivity and
creativity Web graphic tools that enable them to achieve extraordinary
results.

Customers in the United States and Canada can purchase Adobe ImageStyler
1.0 for Windows 95 and 98, Windows NT 4.0, and Power Macintosh from Adobe
Authorized Resellers and retail outlets for an estimated street price of
$129 (U.S.). For additional information, customers can call Adobe at
1-800-685-3659. For a complete listing of international Adobe distributors,
please see http://www.adobe.com/supportservices/intlsupport.html on the
World Wide Web.

For the creative business customer who is using popular Web authoring
tools, Adobe ImageStyler is a simple and powerful way to create Web
graphics. "Adobe has introduced one of the nicest products I've seen for
mere mortal business people who need to create Web graphics," said Chris
Shipley, Editor and Publisher of DEMOLetter. "Adobe ImageStyler helps you
create live objects, JavaScript rollover effects, and other design elements
quickly and without a degree in graphic arts."

Adobe ImageStyler is a software program designed to help users like Debbie
Jeffers, quickly create spectacular Web graphics. Jeffers, who manages Web
sites for the University of Delaware, found that creating attention-getting
Web graphics could be very time-consuming and tedious. "Literally
everything I do, from creating Web graphics to making changes to other
people's Web sites, can now be done in a small fraction of the time," she
says.

With Adobe ImageStyler, non-professional designers can be instantly
creative using style editing and live objects; easily update their site
with batch creation graphics; and provide efficient Web production with
auto-layout and JavaScript effects. For example, with Adobe ImageStyler,
Darenna Rainsdon can add interactivity to the Internet and Intranet sites
she manages for the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass., without having to
learn JavaScript code. "Creating rollover effects can now be done
quickly-without writing one line of JavaScript code," said Rainsdon. "I can
create mouse-overs in an absolute flash with Adobe ImageStyler. The bottom
line is that our site is going to have more interesting, appealing bells
and whistles-without my having to work all hours of the night."

French and German versions of Adobe Imagestyler are expected to ship within
30 days, and a Japanese version within 60 days, of the U.S. release.
Information on support policies for other countries will be announced
separately.
