New telephony application for Mac OS X

New telephony application for Mac OS X

Berlin, July 1, 2002

ilink Kommunikationssysteme GmbH announces the immediate release of the new
Mac OS X telephony application direct which is available for free download.

direct is a simple and convenient telephone dialer. With direct a call to a
contact from your personal Mac OS X address book or from a central LDAP
address directory can easily be initiated. No longer do phone numbers have
to be manually entered via telephone keyboard.

direct comes with a dynamic search function that presents all search
results in a list. Once an entry is clicked, the telephone starts dialing
the phone number and the call will be established.

Support of the Mac OS X service menu makes it possible to establish calls
from other Mac OS X applications as well, e.g. from Mail.app. To do so, the
user just has to select a phone number in the other application and choose
"direct" in the service menu. In addition, direct works together with the
local Mac OS X address book to provide a user definable quick dial list.
The entries of this quick dial list appear can be selected from the dock
menu to start the call.

direct requires an ilink TeamCall Server.
