Valentina for REALbasic 1.5 Released

VALENTINA PRODUCT LINE UPGRADED, POWERFUL DATABASE ENVIRONMENT FOR
REALBASIC AVAILABLE

September 3, 1999. Beaverton, Oregon. Paradigma Software made available an
across the board upgrade to its database product line, in addition to
introducing Valentina for REALbasic, a powerful database solution for
REALbasic developers. The update added significant SQL programmatic
functionality and performance improvements through the enhancement of the
Valentina database kernel.

Paradigma Software released a new product, Valentina for REALbasic,
allowing developers using REAL Software's REALbasic rapid application
development environment to create powerful, database-oriented applications
for the MacOS. Valentina for REALbasic allows creation of smaller
applications that can handle very large amounts of data in multiple, open
databases, and perform search and sort queries using SQL. Valentina for
REALbasic is available immediately at an introductory price of $99. After
October 1, 1999, the price will be $199.

Valentina, the "Applescriptable" mini-server for MacOS, was upgraded to
version 1.5. This upgrade makes SQL functionality accessible via
Applescript, as well as adds numerous fixes and performance enhancements.
Valentina 1.5 also incorporates a visual browser for the creation and
management of object-oriented databases. Valentina 1.5 is priced at $49.
Owners of Valentina 1 can upgrade for free to version 1.5.

Valentina SDK was upgraded to version 1.5 and also includes programmatic
SQL functionality, allowing Macintosh and Windows C++ programmers to
harness the power of the Valentina database kernel. Upgrades from version 1
of the SDK are free to registered users.

The product line is built on the ultra-fast Valentina database kernel. The
kernel has been tested as indexing and searching 100-500 times faster than
many popular Macintosh-based databases on the market, and with sorting
tests ranging up to several thousand times faster. It supports fields of
type boolean, byte, short, ushort, long, ulong, string, date, time, BLOB
and ObjectPtr. Database files can be up to 4 GB in size, and up to 4
billion records per table. Its support for BLOB objects allows for storage
of almost any binary datatype, including graphics and video.

The Valentina product line is available for immediate download from the
Paradigma Software web site at http://www.paradigmasoft.com. Domestic and
international volume pricing is available through Proactive International,
LLC, Paradigma Software's US partner at http://www.proactive-intl.com
