DIT ANNOUNCES NEW TRANSFERPRO FOR UNIX RELEASE
File Transfer Software Supports Latest UNIX Implementations
Compatible with All Popular Removable Media

LOS ALAMOS, NM (February 12, 1998) Digital Instrumentation Technology,
Inc. (DIT) announces availability of TransferPro for UNIX Release 4. The
latest version of its award-winning high-speed file transfer software
enables users to read and write all popular removable Macintosh and DOS
formatted media directly from their UNIX workstation at SCSI speeds, and to
easily interchange data between different types of UNIX computers.

Ideal for pre-press, desktop publishing and other digital imaging
applications, the latest version of TransferPro for UNIX Release 4 is
compatible with all the latest UNIX implementations including Solaris 2.6,
and the latest removable media including 4.6 GB magneto-optical drives, 1.5
GB Syjet, and Iomega Jaz. With the new release, TransferPro for UNIX also
supports multiple Macintosh partitions of up to 4 GB per partition.

TransferPro for UNIX Release 4 provides full Japanese language support.
Users may now transfer Kanji and Katakana scripted files between Macintosh
and Motif SGI UNIX systems with the software.

Further increasing the versatility of the software, long filenames are
retained when transferring files between UNIX and DOS-based systems. In
addition, TransferPro for UNIX now supports transferring files between DOS
partitions of up to 2GB and all standard UNIX implementations.

TransferPro for UNIX is faster than a network when copying large files
between workstations and personal computers, commented Robert Justice,
president of Digital Instrumentation Technology. e It provides
multi-architecture environments a fast and efficient means of transferring
data between computers. TransferPro is ideal for transferring files from
graphic studios to service bureaus.

With TransferPro, users can copy, move, rename and delete files and
directories, including multilevel directory structures and easily and
quickly initialize Macintosh and MS-DOS cartridges and disks.

TransferPro for UNIX Release 4. is compatible with the leading Appleshare
file server systems such as Helios EtherShare, IPT u-Share Partner, and
Xinet K-AShare. TransferPro for UNIX also conforms to the AppleSingle and
AppleDouble file formats used by the Macintosh Application Environment.

TransferPro will read and write to any standard SCSI device and will format
all popular media including:

* Iomega Zip, Jaz and Bernoulli cartridges
* 1.5 GB Syjet Macintosh drives
* SyQuest drives in 44, 88, 105, 200, 270, and EZ135 formats
* Magneto-optical drives up to 4.6 BG and 512 bytes/sector (all formats)
and 1024 bytes/sector (Macintosh)
* SCSI-based floppy and floptical drives as well as internal non-SCSI
floppy drives
* Fixed SCSI hard drives
* DataDock and Data Shuttle removable hard drives

TransferPro for UNIX will also read from all Macintosh-formatted CD-ROMs.

TransferPro for UNIX is available for many popular Unix platforms including
Silicon Graphics IRIX 4.x, 5.x, 6.x; Data General DG/LX Motorola and Intel;
IBM AIX for RS6000; sun SPARC Solaris 1.x and 2.x; DEC Alpha Digital UNIX,
Apple network Server AIX, and HP-UX 10.20.

TransferPro is also available for Windows 3.x, Windows 95, and Windows NT.
Prices for a single user license for TransferPro for UNIX begin at $459.
