ALADDIN'S STUFFIT EXPANDERS EXCEED 2.1 MILLION DOWNLOADS
JUST FROM THE ALADDIN SYSTEMS, INC. WEB SITE

Watsonville, CA - November 12, 1999 - Aladdin Systems, Inc., a wholly owned
subsidiary of Aladdin Systems Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ BB: ALHIE), announced
today that within 12 months of the StuffIt(r) 5 format release there have
been over 2,151,000 downloads of the Windows and Macintosh Expanders from
the Aladdin Systems Web site: (http://www.aladdinsys.com/). This count
doesn't include the millions of Expanders downloaded from other popular
Internet download sites as well as those distributed with Apple's Mac OS.

Aladdin's Expanders, popular Internet compression access freeware, soared
over two million downloads in less than 12 months since their initial
release. StuffIt Expander(tm) is the Macintosh standard decompression tool
and is quickly emerging in the Windows market as Aladdin Expander(tm),
because of its ease-of-use, cross-platform and access capabilities.
Expander, part of the StuffIt (.sit) compression product line, is the one
stop solution for Macintosh and Windows users to access ALL the popular
compression and encoding formats found online. For a complete listing of
all the file types Expander can handle, visit the Aladdin Web site:

"We couldn't be more thrilled with the fast adoption rate of the StuffIt 5
technology," said Darryl Lovato, president and CTO. "It's the best
compression available. In fact, Apple bundles StuffIt with its Mac OS
software, and its on every new Macintosh computer that ships- and it still
tops the download sites."

Aladdin Systems, Inc. ignited the compression revolution in the 1980s with
StuffIt and reinvented compression technology in 1998 with the latest
StuffIt 5 technology, which includes faster and tighter compression
technology over any other competing product, by an average of 20%. Aladdin
is committed to the industry and its customers to continue developing
leading-edge StuffIt compression technology and helping computer users
worldwide to transmit, access and organize (TAO) their information.

Aladdin's Web site has increasingly become a popular software download
site. It rates in the top 15 as the most popular Windows technology site
and is #5 for Macintosh sites (http://www.100hot.com/). A free download of
