Software Developers Announce Support for Mac OS X Server

that developers are lining up to support Mac OS X Server with
innovative new software solutions that utilize the power of Apple's
new server operating system. Many companies are using Seybold to
showcase new Mac OS X Server solutions, spanning publishing, digital
asset management, Internet development and general productivity
applications. Due to ship in the next few weeks, Mac OS X Server
combines the proven strength of UNIX with the simplicity of Macintosh

"Mac OS X Server is Apple's first modern server operating system and
developers are already making it a platform for innovative software
releases," said Clent Richardson, Apple's vice president of Worldwide
Developer Relations. "For publishing customers, Mac OS X Server will

KeyServer; Stalker Software's CommuniGate Pro; Xinet FullPress; AAA+
Joy 2.1 and Joy Services 2.0; OpenBase SQL Database Engine; P & L
Systems Mesa, OpenUp and ColdCompress; ReportMill's ReportMill 2.1;
Stone Design Create 5.0, SliceAndDice, GIFfun, Pack Up and Go, Web
Colors and Stone Web Color Lists; and TipTop Software's
Objective-Everything.

Mac OS X Server is built on the high-performance Mach microkernel and
BSD 4.4, and includes the Apache HTTP web server and WebObjects
application server. Mac OS X Server also features NetBoot and Apple
File Services, making network administration as easy as managing a
single Mac. When coupled with a new Power Macintosh G3, Mac OS X
Server delivers affordable server solutions for Apple's Internet
publishing, web application development, print publishing and
education customers.

System Requirements, Pricing & Availability Mac OS X Server supports
all Power Macintosh G3 or Macintosh Server G3 systems, and is
optimized for Apple's new line of Power Macintosh G3s. Mac OS X
Server requires 64MB of RAM, 1GB hard drive and a CD-ROM drive. Apple
expects Mac OS X Server to be available in North America in the next
few weeks with worldwide availability to follow.
