FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dearborn, MI -- April 13, 1999 -- Even as the momentum for the 1999
incarnation of MacHack: The Annual Conference for Leading Edge
Developers grows stronger, some things are disappearing quickly.

In the last two weeks, the conference has announced its keynote
speaker, popular Macintosh and technology columnist Andy Ihnatko. The
preliminary list of technical sessions has been released and more
sessions are slated to be announced in the coming weeks. The academic
paper finalists have been announced. More information on all of these
conference features can be found on the MacHack web site
(http://www.machack.com/).

If the looming tax deadline were not enough to conjure fear and
loathing, on April 15, we will witness the demise of early
registration for MacHack 1999. Developers are still welcome to
register after this date, but beating the deadline works greatly to
their advantage.

This year thanks to conference sponsor Palm Computing, the $475 early
registration rate gets registrants a chance at a Palm III Connected
Organizer as well. Register online and entry is automatic. Snail
mailed registrations must be postmarked by Midnight on April 15 to
meet the deadline. Winners will be announced later this month.

Students too are included in the bargain. Student registration (with
valid student ID) is only $50. This includes access to all conference
events and a meal package provided by conference sponsor MindVision
Software (http://www.mindvision.com/). There is a Palm III Connected
Organizer reserved for giveaway to early student registrants. Student
odds of winning are excellent as student registration is limited to
50. This pool is filling fast. Students are encouraged to register
today rather than risk losing the opportunity.

HOW TO REGISTER

To register for the conference, simply go to the conference web site
(http://www.machack.com) and register either via the secure online
form or via the snail mail form. Those who register by April 15 are
entered to win a Palm III Connected Organizer, full details are at
the conference website. Also, attendees that register before the
April 15 deadline will get $50 off the regular registration rate.

MacHack, in its fourteenth year, remains centered around cutting edge
software development. Each year the conference brings together
well-known names in the software business, as well as many students
and upstarts whose names we'll know soon enough, and fosters
interaction between all of the attendees. MacHack's uniqueness
derives from the informal feel and the LIVE coding that occurs
around-the-clock during the conference.

MacHack 1999 will take place June 23-26 in Dearborn, Michigan.
