MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa, December 16, 1999 --- Excel Software today announced
the availability of MacA&D 7.1, a comprehensive tool for system analysis,
requirements specification, software design and code generation. Version
7.1 adds industry-leading capabilities for generating custom HTML reports
from software models. Ready-to-run reports include multiple frame project
browsers, class and component navigators, code and specification browsers
and partitioned reports for handling large projects.

The scriptable HTML report generator gives the user full control over the
content and format of generated HTML reports. The report generator
processes an HTML text file with special tags that get replaced with
information from the design model. These replacement tags support user
interactions during the generation process, looping structures, hypertext
links and variable calculations.

most popular features in MacA&D, to provided unmatched flexibility in
generating custom reports from design information.", said Harold Halbleib,
Product Manager. "Leveraging the strength of a comprehensive CASE tool with
the incredible industry support of HTML offers powerful solutions for
technical documentation, design reviews, maintenance, software
subcontracting, education and distribution of design information."

MacA&D is a comprehensive tool for structured analysis and design,
object-oriented modeling using popular notations like UML and data modeling
of information systems. It has diagram editors for process models, data
models, class models, state models, object models, structure models and
task models. Each model shows a different view of the software system
integrated through a global data dictionary. The tool provides requirements
specification and traceability, design verification reports and text
import/export features. WinA&D for Windows and MacA&D for Macintosh share
binary compatible documents and similar features.
