[MD1] DICOM Import Component v1.0 for QuickTime

[MD1] DICOM Import Component v1.0 for QuickTime

Escape Information Services is pleased to announce the immediate
availability of its DICOM Import Component for QuickTime.

The new QuickTime component works on both Mac and Windows, and enhances
QuickTime-savvy applications with the ability to import medical images that
conform to the DICOM standard. DICOM files are being produced by all major
radiology systems, such as CT and NMR imagers.
The product currently supports a wide subset of the DICOM standard, such as:

* compressed (lossy & lossless JPEG; RLE) and uncompressed
* indexed and direct, monochrome and RGB, 8 & 16 bit pixel depth
* single and multiple image files, including:
- arbitrary addressing of images in multi-image files,
in compliance with QuickTime 4.0 (if the aplication supports it)
- conversion of multiple-image files to QuickTime movies.

A future version will provide API access to DICOM metadata. We are
confident that our DICOM/QuickTime integration will catalyze synergies
between the two standards, and will eventually be appreciated by both
end-users and developers of healthcare applications.

Pricing:

The component is priced at $95 per machine (Mac or PC) for a single
license. For more licenses, there are packs of 3 ($249) and of 10 ($695)
and you can specify the platform mix on your order. Hospitals or other
organizations with 30+ users are invited to contact us for a tailor-made
site license.

Support:

Free, unlimited-incident technical support for 3 months after purchase.

Availability:

Immediate. The installer installs either an unlimited-time evaluation
version or the full version of the component. You can buy the component
directly from Escape, as well as from our reseller in Japan.
