Avalanche of New Mac Software and Peripherals Continues

Over 1,000 Macintosh titles and USB devices announced since iMac debut

APPLE EXPO PARIS, FRANCE - September 17, 1998 - During a keynote address
here today, Apple Computer announced that since iMac was unveiled on May 6,
1998, over 1,000 new Macintosh hardware and software products have been
introduced by Apple developers around the world. The products range from
innovative new consumer software titles to printers, cameras, and disk
drives that plug-in to iMac's Universal Serial Bus (USB) port. Developers
in Europe, Asia and the Americas have contributed to this avalanche of new
Macintosh products.

"Macintosh hardware and software developers have responded to the promise
of iMac with passion and ingenuity," said Steve Jobs, Apple's interim CEO.
"To bring out more than 1,000 new Mac products since May is awesome news
for Macintosh customers around the world."

iMac began shipping in USA on August 15, and, in Europe and Japan, in early
September.

In total, 1,032 new Macintosh products have been announced since May 6,
including 372 local language software products for Europe and Asia.
Products range from personal productivity titles, to a host of popular
games to professional publishing software. Among the software vendors
bringing out new products are: Active Concepts, Adobe Systems, Inc., Aspyr
Media, Inc., Blizzard Entertainment, Boudrant, Broderbund Software, Inc.,
Bungie Software Products Corp., Canto Software, Disney Online, DoubleClick,
Dorling Kindersley Multimedia, Dr. Solomon's Software, Dynalab, EdMark
Corp., GoLive Systems, Inc., InfoLogic, Interware, Intuit, Inc., Koshin
Graphic Systems, The Learning Company, Inc., Lucas Learning, MacSoft,
Mattel, Inc., Midius Art & Science, SegaSoft, Simon & Schuster Interactive,
Steinberg, Voget Selbach and Yamaha Music Media.

Over 70 new Macintosh hardware devices have been announced since iMac
debuted. iMac uses the advanced, industry-standard USB to connect to
peripherals, such as printers, disk drives and cameras. Companies that have
announced USB-based products for the iMac include: ADS Technology, Advanced
Gravis Computer Technology Ltd, Alps Electronics, Inc., Ariston
Technologies, Canon, Inc., Canotec, CH Products, Connectix Corp., Eastman
Kodak Company, Entrega, Epson America, Inc., Hewlett-Packard Company,
Iomega Corp., Imation Corp., Kernel Productions, Keyspan, Kodak, LaCie,
MacAlly Peripherals, Momentum, Newer Technology, Inc., Palm Computing,
Inc., Panasonic, Peracom, Philips Electronics, Syquest Technology,
TeraGlobal Communications Corp., Thrustmaster, Inc., UMAX Technologies,
Inc., Yano Electric and Zoom.
