Apple Announces Software Design Award Winners

Apple Design Awards Recognize the Innovation that Makes Macintosh Software
Special

CUPERTINO, California--May 14, 1998--Apple Computer, Inc. today announced
the winners and runners-up of its third annual software design contest for
Mac OS developers. The Apple Design Awards honor applications which
showcase the innovation, ease-of-use and integration of Apple technologies
that make Macintosh software unique. This year's Design Award winners were
announced yesterday at a ceremony during Apple's annual Worldwide
Developers Conference (WWDC).

"Apple Design Awards recognize and applaud the outstanding accomplishments
of Mac OS developers around the world that lead the industry in innovation
and differentiate our platform," said Clent Richardson, senior director of
Worldwide Developer Relations at Apple. "Mac developers have blazed trails
for the industry in publishing, education, consumer, content and games
software, and these awards celebrate these pioneering efforts."

Winners and runners-up receive a trophy and the right to use the associated
prize logo to market their products.
