[MD1] Apple and UMAX Reach Agreement

Apple and UMAX Reach Agreement on Licensing Mac OS 8

CUPERTINO, Calif.--Sept. 8, 1997--Apple Computer Inc. has reached an
agreement with UMAX Computer Corporation to bundle Mac OS 8 on UMAX
computers under the general terms of UMAX's current licensing agreement
with Apple.

This license to UMAX for Mac OS 8 does not include the rights to use Mac OS
8 on Common Hardware Reference Platform (CHRP) based systems and is valid
through July 1998.
