Both Macintosh and Windows versions are available now

March 7, 2000 - Today Kanex Group Inc. released MacPopUp 1.1.

MacPopUp is a program that allows Mac users to exchange instant messages
with other users on any local area network (LAN). With MacPopUp, you can
send and receive messages from different operating systems such as Mac OS,
Windows 95/98, Windows NT/2000, Windows for Workgroups, Linux and other
UNIX OSes.

MacPopUp 1.1 for Macintosh and MacPopUp 1.0b for Windows have been released
simultaneously. Now Windows users can enjoy themselves using MacPopUp
previously available only for Macintosh.

The high-speed information exchange in your office is not a dream. With
MacPopUp it's become possible to communicate faster and easier using your
powerful local network for your business. MacPopUp lets you exchange
instant messages on all major computer platforms: Mac OS and Windows. It's
just an ideal solution for workgroups and departments no matter what
computers are used on a local network.

MacPopUp is the most efficient and effective way for colleges, universities
and other educational institutions to give students and teachers a new
opportunity to communicate with each other. It turned out that MacPopUp is
a real help for hearing, speech and deafness centers that serving people
with hearing or speech impairments

MacPopUp can be used for exchanging instant messages on mixed and
homogeneous networks and for sending messages to an individual user and to
a whole workgroup. Besides that MacPopUp can automatically find all users
available on a network, so you needn't to input user names manually. It
dramatically saves your time! MacPopUp doesn't require any dedicated
servers installed. So it means that you can install and configure the
program very easily.

The following bugs were fixed in the latest version: - MacPopUp didn't
receive messages sent by the "net send" command; - Some problems with
encoding.

New improvements in the latest version:
- Much faster messages exchange (time);
- MacPopUp for Windows support;

Availability

You can download MacPopUp 1.1 for free from the following web site:
http://www.macpopup.com. Single User License is carried a suggested retail
price of $25. For multi-user licenses we have foreseen attractive
discounts. If you purchase from 2 to 10 licenses, the cost per item is $20.
If your order is in the range from 11 to 49, then an each item costs for
you just $15. We are interested in saving your money so if you purchase
more than 50 licenses, then a suggested price is only $10 per item. Also
our company is very interested in giving discounts for Site License orders
and educational institutions inquiries.

MacPopUp is shareware. Therefore you can download and install MacPopUp on
your computer right now and try it before the registration. You are allowed
to evaluate a full copy of MacPopUp during 20 days.

The preview beta version of the MacPopUp 1.0 for Windows is available for
download beginning today at http://www.softwarium.com. The commercial
version is scheduled for release in the late of March of 2000.
