BLUE WORLD ANNOUNCES LASSO XML VS. FILEMAKER XML WHITE PAPER

Report highlights differences in flexibility, performance, ease-of-use,
security and support for XML standards

Bellevue, WA--June 1, 2000--Blue World Communications, Inc.--pioneers of
the Web Data Engine(tm)--today announced a new white paper report comparing
XML implementations in Blue World Lasso and FileMaker, Inc. FileMaker Pro 5
product lines. The 22 page report includes detailed coverage of key topics
of interest to Web application developers looking to incorporate XML into
their solutions.

"In an era of rapidly evolving Internet standards, flexibility is of
paramount importance," said Bill Doerrfeld, founder and CEO of Blue World
Communications. "The Lasso XML vs. FileMaker XML report demonstrates how
Lasso provides the most flexible implementation of XML for FileMaker Pro
databases and beyond."

Flexible, Scalable and Secure

The Lasso XML approach is far more flexible than the FileMaker XML
approach. With Lasso XML, developers can specify and customize any XML DTD
or Schema, embed style sheets, control encoding options and use custom
query formats. The Lasso XML approach brings XML publishing capabilities to
any database that can be used with Lasso including versions 3, 4, and 5 of
FileMaker Pro in addition to Microsoft SQL Server, Access, MySQL, Oracle,
4D and countless other database applications. Lasso's database independent
architecture allows Lasso solutions to effortlessly migrate from and scale
to various back-end databases. Also, the Lasso XML approach supports XML
implementations in FileMaker Pro 5 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 making it
easy to interoperate with or migrate from these systems. Unlike the
FileMaker XML approach, Lasso XML allows the use of embedded database
queries via Lasso Inlines for maximum security.

Fast, Easy and Conforming to Standards

The Lasso XML approach offers superior server-side performance by virtue of
its high speed multi-threaded engine and delivers the same performance
benefits offered by the FileMaker XML approach for solutions reliant on
client side XML processing. As the Lasso XML approach utilizes the same
method used to create standard Lasso format files, building and customizing
Lasso XML solutions is fast and easy. What's more, the Lasso XML approach
provides industry first Instant XML and Instant WML publishing dramatically
easing the process of XML-enabling databases for display in any XML
compliant Web browser or WAP compliant cellular device. Unlike the
FileMaker XML approach, the Lasso XML approach supports emerging XML
standards such as Schemas and allows the developer to use any industry
standard DTD. The Lasso XML approach also allows developers to use either
LDML, CDML or industry standard Server-Side JavaScript to submit queries.
The FileMaker XML approach relies exclusively on proprietary CDML commands
for submitting queries.
