Neon Software Announces LANsurveyor 8.5 for Macintosh

Proven Network Management Software Maps SIP-based VoIP Devices, Diagrams
Router and Switch Connectivity, and Adds Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger" Support

LAFAYETTE, CA - May 4, 2005 - Neon Software, Inc. announced today the
immediate availability of LANsurveyor version 8.5 for the Macintosh.
LANsurveyor helps network administrators and IT managers diagram their
networks, monitor key network components, remotely manage systems, solve
network problems, and create network and desktop asset reports.

LANsurveyor now discovers and diagrams SIP-based Voice-over-IP devices,
including telephones, video conferencing systems and other SIP devices.
Reports can include SIP devices and SIP-specific information, and the
switch port report identifies exactly where SIP devices are connected to
switches. In addition, LANsurveyor discovers and maps Microsoft networking
NetBIOS clients.

LANsurveyor is greatly enhanced by many new features, such as the new alert
methods of "launch application" and "log to syslog", built-in Remote
Desktop Client screen sharing, colored graphic representation of network
link speed, and more.

LANsurveyor is easy to configure and operate and is used by small- to
medium-sized organizations as well as organizations with thousands of
network nodes. Unlike expensive solutions that require extensive training
or a team of consultants to master and install, LANsurveyor is inexpensive,
installs quickly and easily, and scales to meet customer requirements.

New Features in LANsurveyor 8.5

LANsurveyor 8.5 includes productivity enhancing new features designed to
provide even better network maps and documentation. Highlights include:

* OS 10.4 Tiger Support
* NetBIOS and SIP autodiscovery
* New "launch application" and "log to syslog" alerts
* Show network interface speed for SNMP map nodes by assigning color and width
* Launch Remote Desktop Client screen-sharing (Microsoft application for OS
X only) from map
* Launch default browser to node directly from map
* Improved naming of SNMP interfaces and switch port assignments
* Display names of network interfaces for nodes with multiple network
connections
* SMTP authentication option when sending email alerts
* Show/hide SNMP community strings for increased security
* Launch file after sending using Send File command
* AppleScript support expanded to include rescan, running spreadsheet and
text-based reports, and export of reports, for example scripts for
automation of report generation
