iShell Version 2.5, iShell Developer Conference

For Immediate Release

Tribeworks Releases Internet Out-of-Browser with iShell Version 2.5 4th
Annual iShell Developer Conference Announced

SAN FRANCISCO - October 24, 2001 - Tribeworks(r) (TRWX), creators of the
industry's most productive tool for building interactive, rich-media
applications, today announced the immediate availability of iShell(r) 2.5.
In addition, Tribeworks announced today that it will host its annual
iShell Developer Conference January 11-12, 2002 in San Francisco.

New Features Added to iShell 2.5

"The enhancements in iShell 2.5 further the tool's ability for
Internet-related projects and give developers more control over their end
users' experience," said Frank Migliorelli, Interactive Design Director at
Edwin Schlossberg, Inc., and Adjunct Professor, Interactive
Telecommunications Program at the Tisch School of the Arts, New York
University. "The iShell solution is by far the most elegant and flexible
way to dynamically combine and control digital media. I already have 3D,
animation and illustration tools that I like, and iShell provides an
environment to orchestrate all aspects of any project I'm working on. Its
ability to easily connect to the Internet and update data and interface
components is amazing. True reactive interaction is not a time-line based
phenomenon, and iShell provides a way to create interactive experiences
that work they way real people think."

iShell 2.5 provides a straightforward framework for developers to create
dynamic, data-intensive applications. Developers accustomed to building
Internet applications around a browser framework will find iShell 2.5 to be
more flexible and easier to work with. Advances in iShell 2.5 include many
new Internet-focused features, allowing for seamless transfer of secure
information to and from remote computers. In addition, the local data
engine has been rebuilt to work with visual data. Based on requests from
existing customers, new features have been added such as dynamic
font-loading and enhanced interoperability with QuickTime and Flash. All
of the new features are available via the friendly visual scripting
environment of iShell.

"iShell 2.5 furthers our commitment to improving the productivity of our
growing community of developers. And despite general economic downturns,
we are pleased that our business continues to grow quarter over quarter,"
said Duncan Kennedy, President and CEO of Tribeworks.

iShell Developer Conference

The 2002 Developer Conference will bring together a diverse group of
professionals - from application developers to educators - gathering to see
the latest advances in iShell. iShell is currently utilized by developers
in more than 20 countries to create the industry's most advanced and
elegant rich-media software applications. In addition to sessions about
iShell technology, the Developer Conference will feature presentations from
the iShell engineering team and Tribeworks' customers.
