IOGEAR electrifies the hard drive market with ION
~ delivers Hi-Speed USB 2.0 external hard drive enclosure ~

Irvine, CA - February 26, 2002 - IOGEAR surges ahead with its latest 3.5"
ION, a USB 2.0 portable hard drive solution, offering users faster speeds
to store, share and back-up information.

Transferring data up to 40 times faster than original USB devices, ION
provides data storage for users to easily install any major brand hard
drive to quickly save files, such as MP3s, digital photos or important
documents. It also enables users to share data across USB-based peripherals
when connected over a network. Both lightweight (.40 lbs.) and compact
(3.1" x 2.4" x 3.8"), the portable device allows consumers to transfer data
across multiple computers in different physical locations.

The PC and Macintosh compatible ION enclosure is priced at $129.95 (MSRP).
It will also be sold as a complete solution with both 40 and 60 GB hard
drives included and priced at $249.95 (MSRP) and $299.95 (MSRP),
respectively. ION will be available in March 2002 from all major catalog
resellers, online resellers and selected retail outlets.

"As most mobile professionals are short on time, it's crucial for them to
have a simple way to store and back-up information quickly," said Miranda
Su, director of sales and marketing at IOGEAR, Inc. "ION is a perfect tool
for workers, such as graphic designers, who require a portable HDD to
transport large projects between the home and office. IOGEAR's USB 2.0
storage solution provides the increased speed and convenience required to
meet the fast-paced life of the mobile worker."

"IOGEAR has become an early leader in Hi-Speed USB 2.0 product development
by manufacturing innovative products that take advantage of the faster
speeds," said Jason Ziller, Intel technology initiatives manager and USB-IF
chairman. "ION successfully passed USB-IF's compliance testing, ensuring
the product is Hi-Speed USB 2.0 certified. With the help of companies like
IOGEAR, Hi-Speed USB 2.0 should get broadly adopted this year."

IOGEAR's 3.5" ION (GHE135U) comes equipped with one premium USB 2.0
Hi-Speed compliant cable, power adapter and standard three year warranty.
It works with Windows 98SE, 2000, ME and XP systems, as well as Mac OS X
and greater*. ION is fully backward compatible with USB 1.1 solutions and
compatible with IDE peripheral devices. For further information on ION or
