today announced Intego VirusBarrier X4, the new version of its widely
acclaimed antivirus program for Macs. Intego VirusBarrier X4 incorporates a
range of new features that have been designed to provide users with
advanced protection against all known viruses, including Word and Excel
macro viruses and also viruses that target Windows computers. It offers
thorough protection against viruses of all types coming from infected files
or applications, whether on CD-Roms, DVDs, removable media, or on files
downloaded from the Internet or other types of networks.

Intego VirusBarrier X4 is a full Cocoa application, native to the OS X
environment, and is fully compatible with Tiger. It works in the
background, alerts the user if any viruses are detected, and does not need
to be disabled when installing other software.
A unique new feature offered only by Intego VirusBarrier X4 is the ability
to open an infected file on a locked volume, such as a CD-Rom. Whereas
other antivirus programs prohibit you from opening the infected file,
Intego VirusBarrier X4 opens a disinfected copy of the file.

NetUpdate X4 can be integrated with iCal through the new Intego calendar,
and can be accessed via the Intego menu. Users can schedule when to check
for updates and NetUpdate X4 will automatically check the Intego server for
updates for Intego VirusBarrier X4, new virus definitions, as well as any
other updates for Intego software installed on the user's computer.
