NEW UPDATEAGENT VERSION BLAZES PATH TO MAC OS X
New Carbonized Version Aimed at Those Moving to New Mac Operating System

June 12, 2001 [Carlsbad, California] Insider Software joined the Mac OS X
revolution today by announcing Insider UpdateAgent X, a new version of its
five-mouse-rated online service that updates all Mac OS X and OS 9
applications, including Carbonized applications, traditional Mac OS Classic
applications, as well as OS X-specific 'bundled' Cocoa and Classic
applications.

SUPPORTING CARBON, COCOA AND CLASSIC APPLICATIONS The new version of
Insider UpdateAgent X supports all Macintosh applications, including
Classic, Carbon, and Cocoa versions. "Classic" applications are those
without support for the Carbon specification and run in the Compatability
Environment under OS X. Applications written to support OS X are "Carbon"
versions. Applications written exclusively for Mac OS X systems are termed
"Cocoa" versions.

GETTING READY FOR A FLOOD OF MAC OS X APPLICATIONS Insider UpdateAgent X is
the fastest, easiest path users can take to prepare their applications for
moving to Mac OS X. "The stability, performance and beauty of OS X make
using it a joy," remarked Rio Sabadicci, president of Insider Software.
"Now that Metrowerks has released developer tools for OS X, we expect an
avalanche of Carbon and Cocoa applications, and we want to make sure users

TAKING FULL ADVANTAGE OF MAC OS X FEATURES UpdateAgent X is a Carbon
application that runs under both Mac OS X and Mac OS 9. It takes full
advantage of the new clean interface features in Mac OS X. On Mac OS 9
systems, UpdateAgent provides updates for Apple operating system software
and all applications, while on Mac OS X it supports Apple's new Software
Update application that automatically downloads new OS updates over the
Internet. As part of the service on both operating systems, UpdateAgent not
only downloads appropriate updaters, but also provides direct inks to
developers' update web pages.

SELECTING THE RIGHT VERSION OF UPDATEAGENT Mac OS X users and users of Mac
OS 9 planning to move to Mac OS X should use the new UpdateAgent X, while
others should use UpdateAgent 8.1.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
Insider UpdateAgent X software is free to all existing users of the
updating service. New users can try a demo version that displays all files
required to bring a system's applications up-to-date and downloads free Mac
OS updates. The full version downloads updaters for all applications and
costs $49.95 US for a full year of Internet-based updates. Both versions
are available for immediate download from Insider's web site at
