GEFEN SENDS HD VIDEO PLUS DIGITAL AND ANALOG AUDIO OVER CAT-5 CABLES

ANAHEIM, CA Leading digital video solutions provider Gefen released its
newest DVI Extender, designed to support the extension of both digital and
analog audio in addition to HD video up to 150 feet.

The DVI Audio Extender supports DVI (digital visual interface) components
capable of transmitting HD video in resolutions up to 1080p or 1920x1200
for computers. Audio, which is not supported by the DVI format, is sent
using digitally based S/PDIF or analog stereo audio formats. For computer
users, DDC signals are sent along with the audio for external control.

Two industry-standard CAT-5 cables connect the DVI Audio Extender's sender
and receiver units. Up to 150 feet in distance is guaranteed, effectively
surpassing the 15-foot limitation imposed by the DVI specification.

Gefen's sender and receiver units are powered by an external supply that
can be connected at the local or remote location, providing flexibility in
the system setup. All connector cables are included as well.

The Gefen DVI Audio Extender (MSRP $649) is currently available to order
online at Gefen.com or through an authorized Gefen reseller.
