The newest member of the S2VR HD Series is the 3.75TB The S2VR HD features
high speed SATA 3Gb/s interface capable of sustaining over 230 MB/s to
support 10 bit HD capture and playback. Available in capacities from 1.5 TB
up to 3.75 TB, you have the potential to store up to 7.5 Hrs of 10 bit HD
1080/60i footage or 25 hrs of 10 bit SD. The S2VR HD has 5 removable hard
drive trays and can be configured for Performance (RAID 0), Protected (RAID
10) and JBOD.

In performance mode, S2VR HD utilizes 5 SATA drives for maximum performance
to serve 10 bit uncompressed HD formats.

At 230 MB/s, editors can easily handle 10 bit uncompressed HD footage with
real time effects without waiting for rendering or spending money on
expensive SCSI or Fibre Channel solution. A Fibre Channel solution requires
an expensive RAID storage box, SAN management software, a Fiber Channel
switch, and Fibre Channel HBA. The initial investment will be over $10,000.
SATA 3Gb/s is the most affordable alternative solution for editors and
studios that do no require sharing the same content in the same storage
pool but need high performance and data integrity.

The Texas Instruments XIO2200 is a single-function PCI Express to PCI local
bus translation bridge where the PCI bus interface is internally connected
to a 1394a-2000 open host controller link-layer controller with a two-port
1394a PHY. This solution provides full PCI Express and 1394a functionality
and performance.
