FileMaker Developer 6 Now Available From FileMaker, Inc.

Develop powerful XML-rich FileMaker Pro 6 solutions with updated
Database Design Report, Script Debugger and Developer Tool

SANTA CLARA, CA - Sept. 16, 2002 -- FileMaker, Inc. today
announced that FileMaker Developer 6 is now shipping (Worldwide
English version). FileMaker Developer 6 is the tool of choice for
commercial and corporate developers creating custom FileMaker
solutions to be deployed across workgroups, distributed as
royalty-free runtime applications or published for the Web.

FileMaker Developer 6 includes the powerful features and
functions of the recently released FileMaker Pro 6 database software
application, along with the following:

*  Script Debugger: Developers can use Script Debugger for
the systematic testing of scripts within a FileMaker solution. By
inserting breakpoints (pauses) in the script, developers can step
through each script, line by line, and view and compare the
anticipated results.

*  Database Design Report: Assists developers to document
the structure (including fields, scripts, relationships, layouts, and
database passwords) of FileMaker Pro database solutions.

Both Script Debugger and Data Design Report support the new
script steps in FileMaker Pro 6, including XML Import/Export, Import a
Folder of Files, Constrain and Extent Found Set, and Global Find and
Replace.

*  Updated Developer Tool: lets developers showcase
FileMaker Pro solutions in elegant Kiosk-mode format or deploy
royalty-free runtime solutions bound with the FileMaker Pro database
engine.  The updated Developer tool allows developers to change
database file names while preserving relationships and links.

*  Offers the benefits of FileMaker Pro 6 - for virtually
limitless data exchange with built-in XML import/export support.
Developers can create customized solutions that can import and export
XML formatted data and share it with users of other applications in an
almost endless variety of output formats. FileMaker Pro 6 provides
in-depth documentation and examples for: XML, which is quickly
becoming the preferred method of exchanging data across applications;
JDBC, allowing for easier ways to build Java front ends to FileMaker
Pro databases; and ODBC allowing for access to a FileMaker data source
remotely, for easy back-up of mission-critical data on back end
systems.
