Vanden Corp. has introduced CyberBully Alert
(http://www.cyberbullyalert.com), software designed to help the
victims of the growing crime of cyberbullying. It's a web-based
solution that simplifies the notification and documentation of
cyberbullying.
It lets children instantly notify predetermined adults of bullying or
online harassment. CyberBully Alert includes two main features. The
alert system is designed to instantly notify adults when a child
encounters an online threat, and document and save a picture of the
actual threatening message.
The software takes a screen shot of the child's computer at the time
the alert is sent and saves it on the same computer for future use
with school officials, other parents or law enforcement authorities.
CyberBully Alert requires only a quick download to get started, says
CyberBully Alert President John Vandenburgh. Once the simple
registration process is complete, the program becomes a part of the
browser's tool bar, he adds.
Parents then enter emails and phone numbers for the adults who will
receive the alert. With a live Internet connection, the child can
send an instant alert via email and/or text message by clicking on
the CyberBully Alert icon. What's more, Vanden Corp. is offering a
School Incentive Program to help schools fund violence prevention
efforts.
