Connextix CopyAgent: Automate Backups for Macintosh

Connectix Announces Availability of CopyAgent

New application allows users to automate backups for the Macintosh

SAN MATEO, Calif.- July 19, 2000 - Connectix Corporation, makers of the
best-selling and award-winning Virtual PC (VPC) family of products, today
announced the availability of Connectix CopyAgent, a software application
for the Macintosh that automates and streamlines backups and copy jobs.
Connectix CopyAgent can copy up to two times faster when performing a
backup over a network. In addition to a multitude of personal data
management capabilities, CopyAgent also includes TurboKeys, a utility that
allows users to input commands using their keyboard instead of their mouse
and allows user to assign key commands to automate repetitive tasks.

Until now, backing up files was an overly time-consuming and complex
procedure for Macintosh users, said Michael Loftus, vice president of
product marketing at Connectix, by providing an easy to configure user
interface CopyAgent allows users to automate where, when and how their
files are backed up.

"The Internet capabilities and incredible ease of use of the Macintosh
platform make it well suited for small business," said Clent Richardson,
Apple's vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. "CopyAgent by
Connectix is a simple and efficient utility that will be welcomed by Mac
users everywhere."

CopyAgent
Connectix CopyAgent gives users a safe and automatic way to back up data,
while making it easy to manage all of their backups within a single
interface. CopyAgent's easy-to-use, made for the Macintosh interface allows
users to modify and keep track of backups with just a few mouse clicks.
With CopyAgent, users can choose from three different copying options:

Normal backup - Copies all files from the source to the destination.
SmartReplace - Copies just the new or changed files from the source
Synchronize - Synchronizes a backup so the contents of the source folder
and destination folder match.

CopyAgent also includes a robust security feature that allows users to
manage sensitive data with more confidence. With CopyAgent, users can erase
sensitive data so that it can't be accessed using recovery software.

Turbo Keys
CopyAgent's TurboKeys utility enables users to access pull-down menus by
typing simple key combinations on their keyboard. TurboKeys also allows
users to use their keyboard to create shortcuts for frequently used
operations, such as typing a string of text, opening a file, or launching
an application.

System Requirements
Macintosh PowerPC, G3, or G4
Mac OS 8.5 or later
16 MB RAM
CD-ROM Drive

Price and Availability
CopyAgent has an estimated street price of $39 and is available for

Connectix Corporation
Founded in 1988 and based in San Mateo, California, Connectix is a leader
in low cost, high-performance compatibility software, originally entering
the market with Virtual, a groundbreaking Macintosh-based product that
provided virtual memory. The ever-popular RAM Doubler and Speed Doubler
products were then launched in 1994 and 1995, respectively. In 1995,
Connectix introduced the industry's first tethered digital camera,
QuickCam, producing more than one million units before selling the hardware
business to Logitech in September 1998. The company continues to develop
innovative, award-winning products that allow computer users to use popular
software and hardware products from a variety of different platforms. In
1999, Connectix again broke the platform barrier by launching Connectix
Virtual Game Station which allows consumers to run many popular Sony
PlayStation games on their personal computers. Connectix remains focused
on new technologies and products that meet the demands of an emerging
multi-platform, internet-driven business environment. For more information
