Big Nerd Ranch Announces Core Bootcamp with $500 Tuition Discounts October
13-17, 2003

Atlanta, GA - September 5, 2003 - Big Nerd Ranch Announces Core Bootcamp
October 13-17, 2003. A $500 tuition discount will be given to any students
who have purchased Core Mac OS X and Unix Programming, by authors Mark
Dalrymple and Aaron Hillegass.

Mark Dalrymple returns to the Big Nerd Ranch to train programmers seeking a
deep understanding of Mac OS X. Knowledge of the Unix structure underlying
Mac OS X allows developers to utilize the power of Mac OS X more fully, and
Core Bootcamp provides that knowledge. Core Students will master the Core
Foundation, learn to create multithreaded and multiprocess programs,
increase their applications' efficiency using the Performance Tools, learn
Rendezvous and GDB inside and out, and authenticate and authorize users
with the Security Framework. To view the Core Bootcamp Syllabus, please

In June 2003, the Big Nerd Ranch released the Core Bootcamp class
materials, Core Mac OS X and Unix Programming, for developers who prefer
self-paced learning. For those with time constraints and specific
development goals, Core Bootcamp offers a rigorous, distraction-free
learning schedule, instructor assistance with designing your first project,
and substantial discussion opportunities with instructors and classmates. A
$500 tuition discount will be given to anyone who has purchased Core Mac OS
X and Unix Programming, available at

The Big Nerd Ranch offers intensive training classes for Unix and Mac OS X
programmers in a lodge outside Atlanta, GA. Class price of $3500 includes
lodging, all meals, original instruction materials, 24-hour lab access, and
transportation to and from the Atlanta airport. Students are encouraged to
bring independent projects to class, allowing for input from classmates and
individual instructor attention.
