Automated GUI Test Tool Squish for Mac OS X Applications Released

Hamburg, Germany - 2007-08-08. froglogic today released a beta version of
Squish for Mac, the automated GUI testing tool for Mac OS X Carbon and
Cocoa applications.

Squish is the leading cross-platform GUI testing tool for automated testing
of GUI applications based on a variety of GUI technologies such as Java
Swing/AWT/SWT/Eclipse RCP, Trolltech's Qt, AJAX/Web/HTML and many more.

The new Squish for Mac edition features automated GUI testing of native Mac
OS X applications. The same rich set of features known from other Squish
editions is now available for QA engineers dealing with Carbon and Cocoa
applications on Apple's Mac OS X system.

"While the popularity of Mac OS X is constantly growing, no professional
tools for automated testing of native Mac OS X applications are available
today. After the huge success of Squish for other GUI technologies, we are
very excited to fill this gap by providing a solid and powerful test
solution to companies targeting the Mac OS X application market.", said
Rainer Schmid, froglogic's Mac OS X team lead.

Squish for Mac non-intrusively hooks into Carbon and Cocoa applications on
the toolkit level. This allows robust GUI object recognition and
identification for all controls ranging from simple buttons to complex
widgets. Additionally, this technology gives the tester access to the
complete programming interface of the toolkit and application providing
maximum versatility for test scripts.

Squish offers a versatile testing framework with a choice of popular test
scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Tcl and Perl) extended by
test-specific functions, open interfaces, add-ons, integrations into test
management systems, an IDE that supports the creation and debugging of
tests and a set of command line tools facilitating fully automated test
runs.

Squish for Mac beta 1 is now available. If you are interested in automated
testing of Mac OS X applications or would like to evaluate any other Squish
edition, please contact us at squish@froglogic.com or visit
