4D Open For Java Is The Real Thing

ACI US, Inc., publishers of the 4th Dimension (4D) RAD/RDBMS Environment,
announced today that 4D Open for Java beta has been granted100% Pure Java
Product Certification. This certification is given to programs and
applications that have been thoroughly tested for cross-platform
compatibility and portability.

"We are committed to open standards," said Brendan Coveney, President ACI
US. "To receive 100% Java certification is commitment."

4D Open for Java had to pass through a two-part process to be certified.
The first step was the Assurance test that used the Java Pure Check Tool.
The Assurance test checks for the ability to operate independently of a
particular operating system or browser. After passing the Assurance test,
4D was then sent to an independent testing facility to be checked for
Verification. Verification re-tests the application to be sure that results
from the Assurance test are accurate. The certification promises
developers, system integrators, and end users that 4D Open for Java is
truly "Write Once, Run Anywhere."

A release date for 4D Open for Java has not been announced.
