SAN JOSE, Calif., September 16, 2004 -- 4D, Inc., publishers of the 4th
Dimension RAD/RDBMS environment, 4D Business Kit and 4D WebSTAR Server
Suite, today announced it is shipping 4D Macro Pack, a free 4D component
that offers a collection of seventeen time-saving macros designed to
increase developer productivity. Macro Pack is available today directly
from: (http://www.4D.com).

"Increased developer productivity is a key feature of 4D 2004," said Brendan
Coveney, president and CEO, 4D, Inc. "Macros empower the developer to build
applications faster and easier. In addition to the included productivity
macros such as auto documentation, 4D Macro Pack is designed to show
developers how to build their own powerful, time-saving macros."

When developing applications, macros can be called to generate code
automatically and help programmers work more efficiently. In 4D 2004, macros
can be saved as XML files and custom named for easy accessibility. Macros
can also call and execute 4D project methods.

4D Macro Pack includes the following macros: Doc 4D, which generates API
documentation using Doc4D comment blocks; Modularize, which helps break down
large methods into smaller components; DeclareSoap, which is useful for
transforming 4D methods into Web services methods; and CreateObject, which
generates scripts that can access COM objects from 4D.

4D Macro Pack is available for free from the 4D, Inc. web site:
(http://www.4D.com). Macro Pack requires 4D 2004 on Macintosh or Windows
platforms.
