iHub for Mac OS X 'coming soon'

Nova media has announced iHub for Mac OS X (http://www.novamedia.de/en/mac-ihub.html). Coming soon, it will synchronize address books and calendars between Macs, iPads, iPhones and iPod touches wirelessly via WiFi without relying on cloud-based services.

The software runs as a background application on a Mac and synchronizes data automatically between different devices in the network. iHub features an user interface to set up permission controls. It's possible to completely deny access to iHub as well as to restrict access to certain address book groups and/or calendars. Read and write permission can be set on each calendar and address book group for each user separately.

iHub uses open standards like CalDAV and CardDAV, so it's not necessary to install any additional software on any client Mac, iPad, iPhone or iPod touches as they will use the built-in software.

If no WiFi network is available, iHub can setup its own wireless network. The integrated Mobile Hub technology turns the Mac in a wireless hotspot and allows other devices to use the iHub address book and calendar synchroniation.

iHub requires an Intel Mac running Mac OS X 10.6.x. On the mobile devices, iOS 3.1.3 (iPhone/iPod touch) or iOS 3.2 (iPad) is required to use the calendar sync, iOS 4 (iPhone/iPod touch/iPad) is required to sync address books. No pricing is available for iHub at this time.
