Finally, the MLS is helping to make soccer a sport for North Americans to follow. And naturally, since Marshall McCluen's "Global Village" has come to fruition, sports fan can travel anywhere in the world and still follow their hometown or, in the case of the World Cup, their county's team thanks to Goal.com and their mobile app.
"Goal.com mobile application delivers everything you need to know about football. With provocative commentaries, exclusive interviews and vivid photos,Goal.com mobile keeps you in the know no matter where you are."
Now, I use MLB"s app and I played with the one for The Master"s. How does Goal.com stack up?
The Juice
The Goal.com site is home base for the entire operation. But, of course, it's the mobile app that makes it a solid resource. Goal.com delivers to you any soccer news that you want. You tailer the stories to the teams of your interest. And you are then treated to detailed news accounts and photos of the topic that you're following. (The website has a store and more but you'll find that out when you link to the website via one of your articles.)
You can either read just your articles to keep up-to-date or link to the site to delve deeper, get the latest standings or even visit their store. And, of course, you can place the app on your iPad, as well.
The Pulp
I know a bit about soccer but the amount of information that you can glean using Goal.com is absolutely astounding! One of my friends has become a devotee of the Philadelphia Union, so I used them as my test team for the app. Now, I'M becoming addicted.
The Rind
I wish that there was access to video highlights of the game. It's not a deal breaker but I've been spoiled by MLB.com.

Summary
Another no brainer. If you don't already follow soccer, get this app because you will soon. And if you're already a devotee, you'd be insane to pass this up. Particularly with the World Cup fast approaching!
