- I suppose queries on the subject of low back pain, or more simply
- backache, are as frequent as any question, and I have tried to respond with
- suitable answers over the years. But since many backaches are due to weakened
- and inflexible muscles caused by a life of inactivity, and since exercise is a
- great way of dealing with the situation, I have been a bit handicapped in
- getting the message across. I have always wanted to include the specific
- details of helpful exercises, but couldn't include the illustrations that
- would make it easy to understand. Now I have the tool I have been looking
- for. It is the latest in MetLife's "Stay Well" series of informative
- booklets. It's called "Preventing Backache" and it includes descriptions and
- illustrations of 8 stretching exercises that are good for your back. With a
- bit of work, it might only take from two to six weeks for you to see an
- improvement in your condition. Send your request, with a stamped self
- addressed business sized envelope to: "Preventing Backaches", Health and
- Safety Education, Area 16-UV, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, One Madison
- Avenue, New York, NY 10010.
