DirectPlay 5.0a includes fixes for a few minor bugs found in DirectPlay 5.0. The new version is completely backward compatible with earlier versions of DirectPlay.

 

Visual Basic Runtime Files

These files are required by any program written in the Visual Basic programming language. Because over the years there have been several versions of Visual Basic, diffeent programs may require a different version of the runtime file. Apart from VB Runtime 4.0, which comes with a setup routine, you'll need to copy the other VB Runtime files into your Windows directory.

Y2K updates for Windows 3.1x
File Manager supplied with Windows 3.1x and Windows for Workgroups (WFWG) will display a garbled year for files created after 31/12/1999. For example, 2000 displays as 19:0 and 2020 displays as 19<0. You can correct the date display by updating the main File Manager program, winfile.exe, which lives in your Windows directory (usually c:\windows), Note that Windows 3.1x and WFWG need different versions of winfile.exe, and be sure to rename the original so you can easily reinstate it if you need to.
