For music students in Years 11, 12 and above, Music Master integrates music sequencing and notation and provides full integration of MIDI data with the manuscript. The idea in both Professional and Performa versions is for you to zap from a blank sheet to a finished song ready for playing or printing.

Music Master comes in three versions: Music Master Performa (most popular for advanced home musicians), Music Master Professional (most popular in secondary schools), and Music Master VS for professional musicians.

All the Music Master versions assume a sound working knowledge of music notation and concepts and will be most appreciated by musicians over 15 years who are already familiar with Music software. Both versions could be improved by walk-through tutorials and examples for new users, but take the time to learn them and you have a powerful tool that will captivate and keep you composing.

Algebra One on One
URL: ftp://ftp.download.com/pub/win95/education
Registration: $US14.99
Rating: star.gif (195 bytes)star.gif (195 bytes)star.gif (195 bytes)

Algebra One on One teaches Years 7 to 9 algebra in a colourful and entertaining fashion. The program includes two games: the Individual Function Practice Game and the Algebra Game. The Individual Function Practice Game teaches individual functions while the Algebra game tests you with full equations.

Study Aid
URL: http://www.ij.net/ovation/studyaid
Registration: $US19.95
Rating: star.gif (195 bytes)star.gif (195 bytes)

Study Aid claims to be the students best friend, enabling them to input test dates and flash cards. Unfortunately these functions are limited in scope and the interface could be improved by having clear links between the different parts.

GeoClock

Registration: $US40
Rating: star.gif (195 bytes)star.gif (195 bytes)star.gif (195 bytes)star.gif (195 bytes)star.gif (195 bytes)

Great for geography students, GeoClock shows the current time by displaying the sun's current position on a map of the Earth with night-time shaded. Night and day-time positions automatically update every few seconds. The program also displays local sunrise, sunset, the sun's azimuth and elevation, and times around the world.

Registration: $US36
Rating: star.gif (195 bytes)star.gif (195 bytes)star.gif (195 bytes)star.gif (195 bytes)

GrafEq graphs any maths equation you choose. Just input the equation, press Enter and you've got it. The graphics are bland, but the graph is accurate.

Digital Organisms

Registration: Freeware
Rating: star.gif (195 bytes)star.gif (195 bytes)star.gif (195 bytes)

Digital Organisms was made as an example that machines could think and it gives a good idea of what a basic organism food structure is like. Larger organisms eat the smaller, and birth defects weaken some other organisms. The program would be improved by having more multimedia content.
