XviD 1.0.2
For creating high-quality compressed video for Net downloads and
PC playback, DivX is the codec that has grabbed all the headlines.
But XviD does the same thing with one big advantage: it's open source,
and therefore free. It's the video codec that Darren Yates covers
in his Ripping & Burning column. Darren also uses XviD for his video
tutorials on PC User's cover CDs.
