DIY letterhead template

To create your own letterhead, create a new text document and use Format, Page, Page tab to configure the margins for the page. Add your logo by choosing Insert, Graphics, From File and locate your logo on your disk. Size and position it on the page. To add the text for your name and address details, place these in the Footer so they'll appear on every page of your document and so they are tucked out of the way. To do this, choose Insert, Footer, Default and type your details there. When you're done, save your file.

Any text document can be saved as a template so that, instead of recreating it each time, you can simply create a new document based on the custom saved template. To save a text document as a template choose File, Templates, Save and type a name for the template. From the Categories list choose Default and click Ok. To later use the template, start the Text Document application, choose File, New, Templates and Documents and double click the Default folder (this is where you saved the file to) to display the templates in that folder. Choose the template name and click Open - you can now work on the file as you would any template file. You could, for example, create a template for a landscape orientation A4 page if you were to use this a lot, or why not create a custom letterhead and save this as a template?
