Get with the program

Firstly, install OpenOffice from our cover CD here. When this is done, start a particular tool by choosing Start, All Programs, OpenOffice.org 1.1.2 and then choose the application to use. The Text Document link opens Writer the text tool, the spreadsheet link opens Calc the spreadsheet tool and choosing Presentation opens Impress the presentation tool.

Choosing HTML document actually opens Writer in a different mode - more akin to the Online Layout mode in Writer than its regular view. Throughout OpenOffice.org you will find the program are referred to either using their original program names (Writer, Calc, Impress and Draw) or using their more functional names such as Text document, spreadsheet etc.
