Global Favorites: Find files, folders, and Favorites

Being able to keep track of the places you go most often is a great feature—and shouldnÆt be limited to just Web pages. The Platform Preview of Internet Explorer 4.0 introduces global Favorites, a feature that lets you keep track of any folders, files, or servers right along with your favorite Web sites. Navigating from local to network to Web content is as easy as clicking a link.

For example...

You can always find your favorites by pressing Start and going to the Favorites list, but the Favorites menu (found on every page) offers special opportunities.

Global Favorites

You can add to your favorites, organize them, and even update your subscriptions from the Favorites menu on any screen.

If you happen to be viewing a Web page when you open the Favorites Subscriptions list, you can subscribe to the page, view a list of all your subscriptions, glance at what's new on the pages, update them all, or even re-arrange your schduled updates.

Be sure to check the Smart Favorites page for details on how to find out what's new without downloading a page!
