Internet Explorer 4.0 introduces the new Interactive Music Control—an ActiveX control that composes and plays music in response to a user's actions. The Interactive Music Control thus creates a soundtrack of the user's actions—in a computer game or guided tour of a Web site, for instance—all without using WAV or MIDI files that require time to download. Do you like what you're hearing? You can learn more about getting "sonified" by checking out our Interactive Music Demo. To hear the demo, you must be running Internet Explorer 4.0 or Internet Explorer 3.02. If you are running Internet Explorer 3.02, click Yes if prompted to download the Interactive Music Control. This lightweight, flexible music control adds life and excitement to Web pages and ensures consistent and configurable musical playback via any soundcard. The Interactive Music control delivers the following benefits:
Special bonus pack available for Internet Explorer 4.0 users To make pages sound even more dynamic, download the Microsoft Synthesizer. This add-on takes advantage the musical output created by the Interactive Music Control to add depth and definition to music that MIDI can't touch—regardless of what kind of sound card you have installed!
