TurboDrivers
Computer Concepts' TurboDrivers are a
range of high-speed printer drivers optimised for the most popular ink-jet printers
from Canon, Hewlett Packard and Epson. Not only are print times significantly reduced
over those from the Acorn drivers, but control is returned to the user much sooner
while the printer driver continues printing in the background.
If you want to run the TurboDrivers (or one of Computer
Concepts' LaserDirect laser printers) over a network, then you sould get the
Network Spoolers for TurboDrivers and Laser
Direct. These are compatible with any AUN network and include an
unlimited network licence for the software.
Printer consumables
Computer Concepts stocks a full range of inks and
papers for the Canon bubble-jet range of
printers, including for models that Canon no longer sells. It also stocks replacement
toner cartridges for the LaserDirect range of laser printers.
Canon bubble-jet printers
Computer Concepts sells a range of Canon bubble-jet printers to cater for all needs.
The printers are all supplied with the appropriate TurboDriver software
to drive them:
- BJC-210 - this is the cheapest bubble-jet printer in the
range, offering A4 printing at 720dpi (mono) and 360dpi (colour). This printer is
currently out of stock while a TurboDriver is developed for it.
- BJ-230 - an A3 360 dpi mono-only printer.
- BJC-4100 - very similar specifications to the
BJC-210, but more expensive, faster and better quality. It offers A4 printing
at 720dpi (mono) and 720x360dpi (colour). If your printing requirements are
primarily for mono work with occasional need for colour, then either the
BJC-210 or the BJC-4100 should be considered. This printer is
out of stock at the time of writing while a TurboDriver is
developed for it.
- BJC-70 - a compact, portable version of the BJC-4100. It
is slower than the BJC-4100, but small and light enough to fit into a briefcase; it's
the ideal printer for someone for whom portability is important.
- BJC-610 - a 24-bit colour, 720dpi A4 printer. This is the
ideal printer for someone wanting to do a lot of colour work, unless they need
the A3 printing offered by the BJC-800.
- BJC-800 - offers 24-bit, 360dpi A3 printing. This is the
only A3 full-colour printer in the range, and is useful for small runs of colour
proofing work. If A3 printing is not required, the higher resolution offered
by the cheaper BJC-610 makes it the better choice.
