Audio and video products
Computer Concepts sells a wide range of audio and video add-ons for Acorn machines. By
investing in the Acorn hardware specialist Wild Vision in 1992, Computer Concepts greatly
improved the diversity of this range, and now offers the following products:
- AudioWorks is a comprehensive sample-editing software
package.
- Eidoscope is a powerful and affordable video-editing
software package.
- The Movie Magic MPEG card allows MPEG movies from
Video CDs or other sources to be played back at VHS quality or better, with CD-quality
stereo soundtracks.
- The TV Tuner allows TV signals to be decoded without the
need for a VCR and (optionally) for teletext to be displayed directly on the Desktop.
- The Chroma-Genlock allows you to overlay computer
graphics over a video signal, for instance to create video titles or presentations.
- The GreyHawk card allows you to digitse a video image
at up to 256 grey levels.
- The Hawk card is similar to the GreyHawk, but allows colour
images to be grabbed and saved as 8-bit sprites.
- The MIDI Max card is a stand-alone MIDI expansion card,
allowing your computer to connect to a wide variety of musical equipment, and RISC OS
applications to play MIDI files using it.
- The Lark card is a 16-bit audio sampling and playback card,
with full MIDI capabilities built in.
- The ScanLight software offers extensive post-processing
operations on scanned and digitised greyscale images. The software is not available
separately, but is provided with all Computer Concepts scanners and the GreyHawk card.
- The ScanLight 256, a hand-held, 256-grey level
scanner offering up to 400dpi.
- The ScanLight 256 Video, a combination of the
ScanLight 256 and the GreyHawk video digitiser.
