DeviceMasterConfiguring Serial Redirector COM Ports

Use the following procedures to add a DeviceMaster port and configure the port for the serial port redirector. If necessary, refer to the secure port redirector help system for more information.

Adding a Serial Port

Use the following procedure to add a port or ports.

  1. If necessary, open the Secure Port Redirector, click Start and click Secure Port Redirector.

  2. Click Port and Add Client Virtual Port.....

    1. Select an available COM port in the Virtual serial port drop list.

    2. Enter the Remote IP address of the DeviceMaster.

    3. Enter the TCP port number for which you want to communicate on the DeviceMaster.

    4. Click Ok.

  3. Repeat Step 2 for each port that you want to use as a secure COM port.

Configuring the Secure COM Port

Use the following procedure to configure the port.

  1. Double-click the port that you want to configure.

  2. Disable the Enable bitrate emulation option on the General tab.

  3. Click the Protocol tab and then click Raw Data and disable the CTS, DSR, DCD and Ring options.

  4. Click the SSL Security tab and disable the Use SSL for connection to remote side option.

  5. Click the Settings tab and select the appropriate serial port settings.

  6. Click OK to save the settings for the DeviceMaster.

  7. Repeat the above procedure for each port that you want to use as a COM port.
