Mailer Problem -- Verifying SMTP Connectivity.

CURRENT SITUATION
You are in the process of verifying connectivity to your SMTP server.

TROUBLESHOOTING RESOLUTION

  1. Ping your SMTP server. If you cannot ping your SMTP server, you may have TCP/IP protocol stack connectivity problems.
  2. Telnet into your SMTP server.
    1. Start Host Presenter.
    2. Cancel the Open Session dialog.
    3. Select the Setup... menu.
    4. Enter your SMTP server's address in the Host text box.
    5. Select the Line Editing checkbox. (TRANSPORTS | EDIT TRANSPORT PARAMETERS)
    6. Set the Host Port to 25.
    7. Click OK to connect.
    8. Once connected, type: QUIT
    9. Exit Host Presenter.

    If you were not able to establish a telnet session with your SMTP server, your SMTP host is up, but SMTP is not running. Contact your mail administator for more assistance.

    If you were able to establish a telnet session with your SMTP host, try your mail operation again. If the problem persists, your probably have problems with your mail account. Contact your mail administator.
