After much political discussion, religious leaders in the Cayman Islands have prevailed again. Cruise ships will no longer be allowed to dock at Grand Cayman on Sundays, Christmas Day, and Good Friday. Religious groups scored another victory last year when they encouraged the government to withdraw permission for the "Leeward", a gay chartered cruise ship, to dock. This decision brought accusations of discrimination from the international press and gay rights groups.
